Theme based learning
We follow a theme based approach to our learning based on the strand in the National Curriculum, the theme changes every half term.
We are also really proud to support the Forest Schools initiative here at Emberton. Once a fortnight, the children are able to experience the wonder of outdoor learning, developing their personal and social skills through tackling new challenges, problem solving and team working. We regularly invite parents to attend these sessions which are a firm favourite with adults and children alike! See our separate Forest Schools page for more information.
We have daily collective worship which also follow a themed approach for the week. In addition to this, all the children 'check in' first thing in the morning as a whole school in order to build a sense of community and opportunity for spiritual development. The local church also visit our school for assemblies and the children are welcomed at the church for celebrations at key times of the year. Every Friday, all parents/carers are welcomed to our Celebration Assembly where their learning is rewarded and praised.
